So, the studio has reopened. During Lockdown I derigged all of my photography equipment and turned my beautiful trusty home studio into a playroom for the kids. Like many of you, we created a rainbow in the window. It was great, until the novelty wore off however after a week or so, and toys started re-inhabiting the rest of the rooms in the house, like they always do (please tell me we aren’t the only ones with toys somehow appearing in EVERY room). And sadly the Rainbow in the window gradually faded…We made ours out of Tissue Paper and PVA Glue, which in hindsight perhaps wasn’t the best idea, but after some scrubbing with The Pink Stuff (Mrs Hitch would be proud), I eventually got it off, my hubby and daughter also helped" But the truth is, my once loved studio had become the dumping ground.
However, since being given the go ahead to reopen, the studio has emerged once more, not only clean, but with a drastic revamp. Following guidance from the government, furniture has been removed to leave a very minimalist look. But I actually love it, for once I feel organised.
I have added some markings to the floor to ensure social distancing can be maintained. For Newborn sessions, I also have a doll prop I can use to show you how to wrap your babies during the session. Occasionally, if you are happy for me to do so, I may need to get closer and might need to position the baby myself, however I will wear a mask, an apron that is washed before every Newborn session and constantly sanitise my hands. I am confident, that although the studio may look different, I can still do my job perfectly well and produce some irresistible photos for you. Looking forward to welcoming you back.
